Music Education at the Boston Children’s Museum
This month I’m doing some volunteer music education work for the Boston Children’s Museum. I’ve always wanted the experience of working in a museum setting (something musicians don’t usually get; museum education is usually squarely in the zone of visual artists), as well as teaching in informal contexts. Plus, the BCM is full of opportunity for interdisciplinary teaching for transfer! I’m excited to begin sharing my affinity for ‘music plus music integration’ with BCM’s arts education department. More on this to come, when I officially start. (Helen and I will be performing some duos on Feb. 19 and leading an instrument petting zoo on Feb 21).
