		<description>This is absolutely on the mark.  This is what separates Martin Denny from Xavier Cugat.  While Augie Colon was easily as capable a percussionist in the Afro-Cuban idiom, Hawaii is the gateway to the Far East, the bridge between the West and the East.  So the incorporation of some of those influences, and the inclusion of that imagery in the compositions, is what makes Exotica exotic.</description>
