Acknowledgments, Shout-Outs, & Mahalos

I was thinking the other day that sometimes it is difficult to express our thanks to those who have helped us, and thought that I might include a page on my website to help remedy this situation. While this list can by no means be all-inclusive, I'm going to try my best to include as many of you whom have helped me along the way. I consider myself very fortunate to have had so many wonderful opportunities so far in my young career, and hope that I can give back to all at some point with my music and aspirations.

-Randy Wong

So here we go, in no particular order ...
(I have no idea how to try and organize this)

My Ohana & Loved Ones

Mike and Terrina Wong - my parents ... for all their support of my music and dreams. (Sounds cliche, I know, but what else can one say?)

Helen Liu, the one and only... She's always there for me. Not to mention, she's also one of my main inspirations as a string player!

Friends of WAITIKI and ABC

I have to start by thanking the Lagrimas brothers - Abe and Eric for their inspiration and ideas. Abe had the brilliant idea to start WAITIKI and Eric guided us in the making of promo packs, gig booking, and the production of the ABC album. The dude took care of everything for that album: getting artwork, laying out the CD graphics & liner notes, recording and mixing our music, negotiating a deal for packaging & pressing ... I think it came out pretty darn good for a one-off project!

Michael Birnbryer. Dude, I don't know where you went or how to get in touch with you, but you helped start a great group, and I want to thank you for that.

Brian O'Neill started the whole Esquivel project, and even though I've had my ups and downs with the music and logistics of it, I'm still thankful he pulled me into it!

Multi-instrumentalist Tim Mayer has been a true beacon for me. Tim really helps to bring WAITIKI to another musical level, and his professionalism as a musician always astounds me. Working with Tim has taught me how much I have to learn, for sure.

Thanks to Mike Perdue for helping WAITIKI borrow gear while we were in Pittsburgh.

Ashwin Tumne, Matt Merewitz, and John Eperjesi were instrumental in getting WAITIKI performance time on the radio and at the Shadow Lounge in Pittsburgh.

(More coming soon). (I could sit here all day, but I've got other pages to work on!)

Media Help

Thanks to photographer Jason Goodman for some of the excellent pictures you see on this website and the WAITIKI website. Jason is a freelance photographer in the Boston area and invited us to his home to shoot some pictures of the band.

Brent Akamine is an old friend of mine from the days of Ohana Punahele. He's also a fantastic graphic designer who works now primarily with DVD and video. Brent started his own company, Hoboken Entertainment, and helps WAITIKI with our promo DVDs. He also designed the logo for Pass Out Records, my record label, and has been a supporter of my music for a long time.
