MIENC

I have been working for the Music-In-Education National Consortium since 2005.

As Project Administrator (since 2007): I work directly with the U.S. Department of Education’s Fund for the Improvement of Post-Secondary Education agency, to ensure our project meets Federal regulations (e.g. EDGAR, OMB A-122). I develop policies and procedures for fiscal and program documentation, contribute to the writing of annual reports, and manage Consortium members spanning 20 schools in 10 states. I coordinate and manage cost-sharing reports, budget forms, and reimbursement requests, both within NEC and between NEC and MIENC Partner Sites.

As Information Architect (since 2005): I design, develop, and publish websites for MIENC projects, partner sites, and conferences. I helped to develop and supervised the creation of the MIENC Digital Portfolio System, an online portfolio documentation tool accessible by all MIENC Partner Sites and central to each site’s annual report to the Federal government. I optimize MIENC websites for search engines, track their use using tools like Google Analytics, and tweak our marketing strategy appropriately. I supervise the publication and art direction of all print materials (e.g. the Journal for Music-In-Education, brochures, signage), and coordinate distribution with partner sites and libraries.

As Guided Practice Consultant: I help MIENC Partner sites develop structures for guided internship programs, and advise them on best-practices for program evaluation using mixed methods for data collection and documentation. I have participated in site visits nationally, on teams with other Guided Practice Consultants.
